about
Alive tries to tie together drug-use, mental illness and suicide. All the fun stuff. It tries to tell a story of how continuous drug-use as a form of coping will later lead to either suicide or perceived mental illness. It never works.
Alive brings in suicide from an ode to the Pearl Jam track 'Jeremy' in which a teenager kills himself in his classroom due to mental illness. Both drugs and mental illness can lead down this dark path. But, sometimes these actions are the only time when you feel alive.
lyrics
I feel like I’m the only one to say
I’m lonely too
Slowly coming down, it turns from night to day
Focused on you
As the rain falls down it washes fears away
Watch the flowers bloom
I feel like I’m the only one to say
I’m lonely too
As the rain falls down it washes fears away
Watch the flowers bloom
Jeremy stood up and spoke in class today
He’s lonely too
It’s not his fault, it’s wiring in the brain
If he only knew
Slow up, speed down, chemicals in the veins
It’ll be his day soon
One tap, one hand, one life is gone away
Tore mind in two
I feel like I’m the only one to say
I’m lonely too
As the rain falls down it washes fears away
Watch the flowers bloom
That’s when I
That’s when I
That’s when I
Feel alive
That’s when I
That’s when I
That’s when I
Feel alive
I feel like I’m the only one to say
I’m lonely too
As the rain falls down it washes fears away
Watch the flowers bloom
I feel like I’m the only one to say
I’m lonely too
As the rain falls down it washes fears away
Watch the flowers bloom
